Face Data Collection and Use

What Face Data We Collect

MosaicPro uses Apple's Vision framework to detect face bounding boxes (rectangular coordinates) and confidence scores for the purpose of applying blur effects or stickers to protect user privacy in photos and videos.

Important Clarifications:

No Biometric Data: We do not collect, store, or process any biometric data or facial recognition information that could identify individuals.
No Face Recognition: The app performs face detection (finding faces in images), not face recognition (identifying specific individuals). We cannot and do not identify who the person is.
Data Collected: Only geometric coordinates (bounding box rectangles) indicating where faces are located in the image, and confidence scores (a number between 0-1 indicating detection accuracy).

How Face Data Is Used

Face detection data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Applying blur effects (Gaussian blur or pixelation) to detected face regions
Applying sticker overlays to detected face regions
Displaying detection statistics within the app (e.g., "5 faces detected")

All face detection processing occurs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No face data is transmitted to our servers, third-party servers, or any external services.

Face Data Storage and Retention

Temporary Storage Only: Face detection data (coordinates and confidence scores) is stored in device memory only during the active editing session.
Immediate Deletion: Face data is permanently deleted when:
- You export or save the processed image/video
- You close the app
- You remove the image/video from the processing queue
Not Stored Permanently: Face detection data is never written to permanent storage, databases, or files. It exists only in memory during processing.
Not Included in Exports: Exported images and videos contain only the visual blur effects or stickers. No face detection metadata is embedded or saved.

Face Data Sharing

We do not share face detection data with any third parties. All processing occurs locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework, which operates according to Apple's Privacy Policy. No face data is transmitted over the internet.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Photos and Videos: Photos and videos you select for processing are accessed from your device's photo library and stored temporarily during processing. All processed media is saved locally on your device. We do not have access to these files.
Custom Stickers: If you upload custom sticker images, they are stored locally on your device in the app's container.

Automatically Collected Information

Usage Statistics: The app tracks anonymized usage statistics locally on your device, including the number of images and videos processed, faces detected, and detection rates. This data is used solely for displaying analytics within the app.
Premium Purchase Information: If you purchase premium features, Apple's App Store processes the transaction. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase status through StoreKit, but no personal or payment information.

How We Use Your Information

Local Processing: All face detection and image/video processing occurs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework and CoreImage. No data is sent to our servers or any third-party servers.
Local Storage: All your photos, videos, custom stickers, and processing data are stored exclusively on your device. They are never uploaded to the cloud or transmitted over the internet.
Analytics Display: Usage statistics are calculated and displayed within the app to help you track your processing activity. This data never leaves your device.
Premium Features: StoreKit is used to manage premium feature access and verify purchase status.

Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data (photos, videos, face detection data, custom stickers) with any third parties.
Apple Services: The app uses Apple's native frameworks (Vision, CoreImage, StoreKit) which operate according to Apple's Privacy Policy.
No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use any third-party analytics services that collect or transmit your data.

Your Data Rights

Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible at any time.
Deletion: You can delete processed images, videos, or custom stickers within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all data permanently.
Control: You have complete control over which photos and videos the app accesses through iOS's photo library permissions.

Data Security

All data is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms.
Face detection processing occurs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework.
We do not transmit your photos, videos, or any processing data over the internet.
The app does not require an internet connection to function.

Permissions Required

The app requires the following iOS permissions:

Photo Library Access: To select and save photos and videos for processing. You control which items the app can access through iOS's photo picker.

Third-Party Services

We use the following Apple services:

Vision Framework: For face detection and tracking. All processing occurs on-device.
CoreImage: For applying blur and mosaic effects. All processing occurs on-device.
StoreKit: For managing premium feature purchases. Transactions are processed by Apple.

Children's Privacy

MosaicPro does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. The app is designed for general audiences and does not include features specifically directed at children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

International Data Transfers

Since all processing occurs on your device and no data is transmitted to servers, there are no international data transfers.
